Health challenges don’t respect faculty boundaries — and neither should innovation!

⚙️With #Health &TechConnect2026, we deliberately brought together expertise from across the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture UGent and Faculteit Geneeskunde en Gezondheidswetenschappen UGent to stimulate dialogue, challenge perspectives and spark new collaborations.

🎤 The plenary part — from faculty insights to keynote and pitches — made it clear how complementary expertise sharpens research questions, strengthens ideas and accelerates collaboration. What followed in the topic rooms were exactly the kind of conversations we aim for: open, curious, and action-oriented.

💡 My main takeaway? Interfaculty collaboration is not just a side activity — it is a key driver for impact in health and technology.

👏 A heartfelt thank you to our speakers, topic room moderators, participants and all others who contributed to this succesful evening! Danaë Delbeke , Robrecht Raedt , Jeroen Missinne , Ioulia Tzouvadaki , Sarah Verhulst , Ingeborg Dhooge , Stefaan Vandenberghe , Renaat Coopman , Dick Botteldooren , Wim Derave , Filip De Turck , Piet Hoebeke , Valentina Goftman , Gilles Brackman , Barbara Vanderstraeten , Frederik E. Leys , Tom Braekeleirs , Ewout Vansteenkiste , Kim De Keyser , Séverine R.

🫶 A special shout-out to Charlotte Crokaerts for the great interfaculty teamwork behind the scenes to make Health & Tech Connect happen!
